TEACHER
I turn my teaching into a bit of a teaching/ performing thing. I enjoy passing on what I have, in a fun way.
During my work with the Akram Khan Company, I was appointed the company teacher. During the world tours, we had to keep fit and supple. I developed my teaching style and systems during this time, with the help of my colleagues who were some of the best dancers in the world. I used the principles of Kalarippayattu, Keralan martial arts, as a basis for these sessions.
Later I became a teacher at the ImPulsTanz Dance Festival in Vienna where I taught for several years.
I have taught in many institutions and companies around the world. Teaching and choreographing are activities that deal with people in time and space in the studio. They feed and inform each other.
